With a long weekend looming in South Africa this week I’m quite excited to get some well needed and well deserved play time in. This week has been one crazy week but then again when isn’t the week of E3 any different. And hell don’t get me wrong this isn’t a bad thing, the announcements we’ve seen over this past week was incredible and I honestly feel that no matter who you’re a fan of…PlayStation, Nintendo or Xbox…we all were treated to at least one game over this E3. I am a little sad however that the shows over and that the wait now begins but I guess that’s just the way the cookie crumbles and waiting is part of the game. However in the midst of waiting we still have a ton of amazing titles in existence so let’s turn our attention to some this weekend.
With the way things have been lately – RIDICULOUSLY CRAZY – I’ve been cramming in a lot of my game time on the 3DS and most of all my mobile phone. I did manage to get some game time in on my PS4 however that was short lived. This weekend that’s all going to change though as I intend on not only playing a few older titles on the PS4 but planning on starting a game I picked up last week for the PS3, NIER.
Originally released in 2010 on the PS3 and Xbox 360 players take control of a man known as Nier who is in search for a cure to a deadly disease which has infected his daughter. The title falls under the RPG genre and was published by Square Enix. What’s intriguing to me was the fact that not only have I never played this title before but I actually did not know that it is in fact a spin-off title for the Drakengard series. I have been told that the game itself is around 30 – 40 hours depending on how you go through it in terms of main story line or if you’re into doing side quests during the game, so I definitely will not be able to complete it this weekend. However I’m hoping that by next week I will have at least played 50% of the title to provide some impressions.
Also included in my play-list for the weekend is of course my mobile favorites at the moment which are Fallout Shelter and Fire Emblem Heroes. Admittedly with E3 2017 taking so much of my time since last week I’ve not really put in a decent amount of time with them and considering my update on Fallout Shelter goes up tomorrow and a new event went live on Fire Emblem Heroes recently, I was a little saddened by the limited time I had to play. Nevertheless I have already started playing them once again since earlier this evening and have also downloaded another mobile title – Final Fantasy Brave Exvius (impressions to follow next week).
I’d love to hear what’s on your video game play-list this weekend or perhaps you plan on binge watching some anime instead?
